Leslie drew these in late Fall 2006 just before her ETV (sim. to shunt) surgery for Hydrocephalus. Because of the hydrocephalus, she had been in a fairly unresponsive state for several days. She had facial paralysis and significant weakness on one side. Her balance was significantly impaired. She woke up one Friday morning and asked that I help her to the kitchen table and give her some paper and colored pencils. This was extremely odd behavior at the time because she had rarely left the sofa on the previous days. She had not asked to draw, paint or color for weeks prior to this due to her impaired motor skills. When she did get up, it was for very brief periods just to eat or go to the bathroom. She proceeded to draw multiple pictures for a couple of hours. Each time I asked her what she was drawing she would cover them up and say "go away Mom, I'm not finished". We were amazed after we saw them. We had not been able to attend church or any worship activities since the summer due to Leslie's condition. Although we are strong believers and are faithful people, we don't carry on conversations like this at home. Therefore, the subject of Jesus had not been in the forefront of her mind for any reason. The next day (Saturday), she woke up and did the exact same thing producing another set of very similar drawings. These pictures look like nothing that Leslie had ever drawn before. Her typical drawings had included flowers, trees, pets, houses and people similar to what you would expect from a 7-year old. These are significantly different with the star, heart and circle element surrounded by dots on almost every picture. It is quite evident to us that these powerful messages came to Leslie directly from the Lord.
